Main Ingredients

For Cooking

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Allow the steak to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, aiming for a temperature of around 450°F (232°C). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and evenly distributed.

Making the Herb Butter

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the softened unsalted butter, finely chopped rosemary, thyme, and minced garlic until well combined.

  2. 4

    Chill the Butter

Transfer the herb butter onto a piece of plastic wrap, shape it into a log, and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 5

    Sear the Steak

Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the Tomahawk Ribeye on the grill and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, creating a nice crust.

  2. 6

    Lower Heat

After searing, move the steak to a cooler part of the grill (indirect heat) and continue cooking until it reaches your desired doneness: about 10-15 minutes for medium-rare.

  3. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the rested Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye against the grain and serve with slices of the chilled herb butter on top. Enjoy with your favorite sides.
