Prepare the Espresso

Brew Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso and set aside to cool.
Make the Cream Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Combine with Mascarpone
Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg mixture, and gently fold until well combined.

Fold in Whipped Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Prepare Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger cookie into the cooled espresso quickly (do not soak) and arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.

Add Cream Layer
Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers in the dish.

Layer Again
Repeat the layering process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture on top.
Chill and Serve

Refrigerate
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.

Garnish and Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
