In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, beaten egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Using your hands, form the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned on the outside.

In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.

Add the Tomatoes
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the tomato sauce and gently coat them. Allow them to simmer in the sauce for another 5 minutes.

Spoon a generous portion of the tomato sauce and meatballs onto a plate. Add a dollop of the ricotta mixture on top and garnish with extra fresh basil if desired.
