Blackberry Hibiscus Reduction

Prepare the Reduction
In a medium saucepan, combine the blackberries, dried hibiscus flowers, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Simmer
Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the blackberries have broken down and the liquid has reduced by half.

Strain
Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids.

Sweeten the Reduction
Stir in 1 cup of sugar while the liquid is still warm, until fully dissolved. Allow to cool completely.

Combine with Reduction
Once the blackberry hibiscus reduction has cooled, pour it into the pitcher with the lemonade base and stir well to combine.

Serve
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the blackberry hibiscus lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves to taste.
