Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Cedar Plank

Submerge the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour to prevent it from burning during cooking. You can also add herbs or spices to the water for extra flavor.

  2. 2

    Make the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure the fillets are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F (190°C).

  2. 5

    Prepare the Cedar Plank

Remove the cedar plank from the water and pat it dry with a towel. Place it on the grill grates to preheat for about 5 minutes until it starts to crackle and smoke.

  3. 6

    Grill the Salmon

Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets on the cedar plank, skin side down. Close the grill lid and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Salmon

Remove the cedar plank from the grill using tongs. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh dill sprigs.
