Method

Preparation of Mushrooms

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Gently wipe the portobello mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Do not soak them in water, as they can absorb moisture.

  2. 2

    Remove Stems

Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and set them aside. You will chop them for the stuffing.

  3. 3

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush the tops and insides of the mushrooms with olive oil to prevent them from drying out during baking.

Preparation of Stuffing

  1. 4

    Chop the Mushroom Stems

Finely chop the reserved mushroom stems and set aside for the stuffing mixture.

  2. 5

    Mix the Cheese Filling

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and chopped mushroom stems. Mix until well combined.

  3. 6

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Fold in the grated Parmesan cheese into the mixture until evenly distributed.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 7

    Stuff the Mushrooms

Using a spoon, fill each mushroom cap generously with the cheese herb mixture, pressing it down slightly.

  2. 8

    Arrange on a Baking Sheet

Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  3. 9

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the stuffed mushrooms for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the mushrooms are tender.

  4. 10

    Serve

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your stuffed mushrooms warm!
