Garlic Aioli

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Bring ribeye steaks to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Fries

  1. 5

    Prep the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick). Rinse the fries in cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Dry the Potatoes

Pat the potato strips dry with paper towels to ensure they fry properly.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips in batches to the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

While still hot, season the fries with salt to taste.

Garlic Aioli

  1. 10

    Prepare the Aioli

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic (press or finely chop the cloves), and lemon juice.

  2. 11

    Mix the Aioli

Stir the mixture until well combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 12

    Chill the Aioli

Cover and refrigerate the aioli for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
