Pizza Dough

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  6. 6

    Shape the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a circle on a floured surface.

  7. 7

    Add Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the base, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your desired toppings.

  8. 8

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

  9. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool for a minute, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot.
