Fries Ingredients
Method
Fries Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly and peel them if desired. Cut them into even-sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut potato sticks in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
- 3
Dry the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato sticks in batches to the hot oil. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pot.
- 6
Drain and Season
Once fried, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt, paprika, and garlic powder while hot.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
