Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Bacon
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup. Lay the bacon strips out flat on the baking sheet.
- 2
Season the Bacon
Sprinkle the black pepper and salt evenly over the bacon strips, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 3
Make the Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine the bourbon barrel maple syrup and root beer. Heat over medium heat until it comes to a simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- 4
Glaze the Bacon
Brush the bacon strips generously with the root beer and maple syrup glaze.
- 5
Roast the Bacon
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the bacon for 15-20 minutes or until it is crispy, checking halfway through to brush with more glaze if desired.
- 6
Serve
Once the bacon is crispy and caramelized, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
