Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the beef into two equal portions and form them into patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the buns since they will shrink while cooking.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, place a slice of American cheese on each patty, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
- 3
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 4
Assemble the Burger
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread a generous amount of secret sauce. Add a cooked beef patty with melted cheese, top with sliced onions, and a spoonful of bacon jam. Finally, place the top half of the bun on the burger.
- 5
Serve
Serve the smash burgers immediately with your favorite sides.
