Macaroni and Cheese Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

1

Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add the milk, whisking to prevent lumps. Continue to cook until the sauce thickens.

3

Add Cheese and Seasoning

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined. If desired, transfer to a baking dish.

5

Optional Topping

If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top of the macaroni and cheese. You can also add some extra cheese on top for a richer flavor.

6

Bake (optional)

If using breadcrumbs, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.

7

Serve

Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.
