Directions
- 1
Mashing the Grains
In a large pot, heat the water to about 160°F (70°C). Add the barley malt and stir well, letting it steep for about 60 minutes.
- 2
Boiling
After mashing, bring the mixture to a boil. Add the hops and boil for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 3
Cooling the Wort
Once boiling is complete, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).
- 4
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add the yeast and stir gently. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment for about 1-2 weeks at room temperature.
- 5
Bottling
After fermentation, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer, seal, and let it condition for another 1-2 weeks.
