Toppings

Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed black beans, cooked quinoa, rolled oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Mix Well

Using a fork or your hands, mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined and form a cohesive mixture.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare Buns

Slice the burger buns in half and optionally toast them lightly on the same frying pan for added flavor.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by a slice of tomato.

  3. 7

    Add Patty

Place a cooked veggie burger patty on top of the tomato slice.

  4. 8

    Complete Burger

Top with the upper half of the bun and serve immediately.
