For the Tiramisu
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow bowl, combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- 4
Layer the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a 9x9 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.
