Knead the Dough
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Caramel Filling Preparation
- 6
Cook Caramel
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Cook while stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
- 7
Simmer the Mixture
Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- 8
Cool the Filling
Allow the caramel filling to cool slightly while you prepare the waffles.
Waffle Cooking
- 9
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 10
Form Waffles
Take a small piece of dough (about the size of a golf ball) and place it in the center of the preheated waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- 11
Assemble Stroopwafels
Remove the waffle from the iron and carefully slice it in half horizontally while still warm. Spread a generous layer of caramel filling on the bottom half and place the top half back on. Press gently to seal.

Repeat
Continue the process with the remaining dough until all stroopwafels are made.
