Infusion Base

Sweetener (optional)

Garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ginger

Peel the fresh ginger root and finely chop or grate it. You should have about 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger.

  2. 2

    Measure the Dried Rose Petals

Measure out 1 cup of dried rose petals and set aside.

Infusion

  1. 3

    Boil the Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 4

    Add Ingredients

Once the water is boiling, add the chopped ginger and dried rose petals to the pot.

  3. 5

    Steep the Infusion

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the mixture steep for about 10-15 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Strain the Infusion

After steeping, strain the infusion through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a teapot or pitcher to remove solids.

  2. 7

    Add Sweetener (if desired)

If you prefer a sweeter drink, stir in honey or sugar to taste while the infusion is still warm.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Pour the rose ginger infusion into cups, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve warm or chilled.
