Meatballs

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  3. 3

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake the Meatballs

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly browned.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Onion and Garlic

Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 7

    Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

  5. 9

    Combine with Meatballs

Once the meatballs are baked, gently add them to the marinara sauce. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes to heat through.
