Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mint

Rinse the fresh mint leaves under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities. Gently pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Boil the Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Steep the Mint

Once the water is boiling, remove the pot from heat and add the rinsed mint leaves. Cover the pot with a lid to trap the steam and let the mint steep for about 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Tea

After steeping, taste the tea. If desired, stir in honey or sugar to sweeten it to your liking.

  5. 5

    Add Lemon (Optional)

If using, squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the tea for added flavor. You can also slice the remaining half for garnish.

  6. 6

    Serve the Tea

Pour the mint tea into cups, straining out the leaves if preferred. Serve hot, or allow to cool and serve over ice for a refreshing iced tea.
