Preparation
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Prepare Ramekins
Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking. Place them on a baking sheet for easy handling.
Making the Cake
- 3
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 4
- 5
Mix Eggs and Vanilla
In another bowl, whisk together the large eggs, large egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- 6
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and gently stir until combined. Then, fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
Baking
- 8
Bake the Cakes
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft and slightly jiggly.
Serving
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen the cakes, then invert onto dessert plates. Serve immediately with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
