Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  2. 5

    Add Optional Ingredients

If you are using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them into the batter at this stage.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  2. 7

    Cooling

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
