Chai Base

Milk Froth

Method

Chai Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Tea and Spices

Once boiling, remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags) and 1 tablespoon of chai spice blend. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Sweeten the Chai

After steeping, strain the tea into a separate container to remove the leaves or bags. Stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar or sweetener until dissolved.

Milk Frothing

  1. 4

    Heat the Oat Milk

In a small saucepan, gently heat 1 cup of oat milk over medium heat until warm, but not boiling.

  2. 5

    Froth the Milk

Using a milk frother or a whisk, froth the warm oat milk until it becomes creamy and has a nice foam.

  3. 6

    Add Cinnamon

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder into the frothed oat milk and stir gently to combine.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine Chai and Milk

In a large mug, pour the prepared chai base and then gently add the frothed oat milk on top.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Optionally, sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top for garnish before serving.
