Preparation of Ingredients

    Chop the Tomatoes

    Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

    Prepare the Basil

    Chop the fresh basil leaves coarsely and add them to the tomatoes.

    Prepare the Mozzarella

    Tear or dice the fresh mozzarella cheese into small pieces and add them to the mixing bowl.

    Season the Mixture

    Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

    Slice the Bread

    Slice the baguette or ciabatta into 1/2 inch thick slices.

    Brush with Olive Oil

    Lightly brush both sides of each bread slice with olive oil.

    Grill the Bread

    Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembly

    Top the Bread

    Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the heat and spoon the tomato and mozzarella mixture generously onto each slice.
