Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash the Broccoli

Rinse the head of broccoli under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Cut the Broccoli

Using a sharp knife, cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Trim the stem and slice it into smaller pieces if desired.

  3. 3

    Mince the Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and use a knife or garlic press to mince them finely.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and just golden, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add the Broccoli

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the garlic and oil mixture.

  4. 7

    Season and Cook

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the broccoli. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.

  5. 8

    Add Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the cooked broccoli. Toss to combine.
