Method
Cheese Dip Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese Base
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the cream cheese and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and creamy.
- 2
Add Flavorings
Once the cheese mixture is smooth, add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
- 3
Incorporate the Brandy
Slowly pour in the brandy while stirring. Continue to cook on low heat for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- 4
Check Consistency
If the dip is too thick, you can add a little more brandy or a splash of milk to achieve your desired consistency.
- 5
Serve
Transfer the cheese dip to a fondue pot or a serving dish. Keep warm while serving.
Dipping Preparation
- 6
Prepare Dippers
While the cheese dip is warming, prepare your dipping items. Cut the French bread into cubes, and wash and slice the vegetables and apples.
- 7
Arrange on Platter
Place the bread cubes, vegetable sticks, and apple slices on a large serving platter around the cheese dip.
