Tacos
Deep Fried Bean Burritos
Jalapeno Cream Cheese
Method
Tacos
- 1
Prepare the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- 2
Season the Meat
Add taco seasoning to the meat, along with a splash of water (about 1/4 cup). Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- 3
Warm the Tortillas
In a separate skillet, lightly warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- 4
Assemble the Tacos
Fill each tortilla with the seasoned meat, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños to taste.
Deep Fried Bean Burritos
- 5
Prepare the Burrito Filling
In a bowl, mix the refried beans with half of the shredded cheese until well combined.
- 6
Assemble the Burritos
Place a generous amount of the bean and cheese mixture in the center of each flour tortilla. Roll them up tightly, tucking in the sides.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Fry the Burritos
Carefully place the burritos in the hot oil, frying them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Jalapeno Cream Cheese
- 9
Mix the Cream Cheese
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sliced jalapeños, garlic powder, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
