Marinated Chicken
Sandwich Assembly
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours for maximum flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Add Cheese
During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each chicken breast to melt.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the chicken is grilling, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- 7
Slice the Avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice it into thin pieces.
- 8
Build the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce leaves, grilled chicken with melted cheese, green chile strips, tomato slices, and avocado slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
