Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the choice of cooked meat with jalapeno cream cheese. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Assemble the Tortillas
Lay out the large flour tortillas and place half of the meat and jalapeno cream cheese mixture in the center of each tortilla. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly to form a burrito shape.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Tortillas
Carefully place the filled tortillas in the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Add Cheddar Cheese
Once the tortillas have been fried, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top while they are still hot. Allow the cheese to melt slightly.
Serving
- 6
Plate the Dish
On a serving plate, place a generous portion of cooked rice and the choice of beans. Top with the fried tortillas filled with meat and jalapeno cream cheese, and serve immediately.
