Churro Bites

Method

Making the Churro Bites

  1. 1

    Prepare the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Mix in Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small bites (about 1 inch long) directly into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  6. 6

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churro bites in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Coating and Serving

  1. 7

    Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat the Churro Bites

While the churro bites are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the churro bites warm, topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
