Main Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Fruit
In a mixing glass, place the slice of orange and the maraschino cherries. Use a muddler to gently press them together, releasing their juices and flavors. Be careful not to over-muddle; you want to combine the flavors without breaking the fruit into too small pieces.
- 2
Add the Bitters
Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the muddled fruit in the mixing glass. This will add depth to the drink.
- 3
Pour in the Bourbon
Measure 2 oz of Jim Beam Bourbon and pour it into the mixing glass over the muddled fruit and bitters.
- 4
Mix the Ingredients
Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently to combine all the ingredients. This will chill the bourbon and allow the flavors to meld together.
- 5
Prepare the Glass
Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes. You can use one large ice cube or several smaller ones, depending on your preference.
- 6
Strain and Serve
Carefully strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the prepared old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Make sure to leave the muddled fruit behind.
- 7
Garnish
For an extra touch, you can add an additional slice of orange or a cherry on top as a garnish.
