Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Start by brewing a strong cup of coffee. Use fresh coffee grounds and hot water to ensure a rich flavor. Brew about 6 ounces.

  2. 2

    Warm the Glass

To keep your Irish Coffee warm, preheat a heatproof glass or mug by filling it with hot water. Let it sit for a minute and then empty the water.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In the warmed glass, combine 1 ounce of Jameson Irish Whiskey with 6 ounces of the hot brewed coffee. Stir gently to mix.

  4. 4

    Add Sugar

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to the mixture and stir until it is completely dissolved.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Whipped Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 2 ounces of heavy whipping cream until it thickens but is not fully whipped; it should be pourable.

  6. 6

    Top the Coffee

Slowly pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon onto the coffee mixture to create a layer on top. This will allow for a layered effect.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot. Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or a coffee bean.
