Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Grapefruit

Cut the grapefruit in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice from both halves. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds.

  2. 2

    Chilling the Champagne

Place the bottle of champagne in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving, or in an ice bucket for 30 minutes.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice with the chilled champagne. Stir gently to mix, being careful not to lose too much carbonation.

Serving

  1. 4

    Pour and Garnish

Pour the grapefruit mimosa into champagne flutes. Optionally, add a slice of grapefruit and a few mint leaves to each glass for garnish.
