Method
Prepare Simple Syrup
- 1
Make the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Juicing
- 2
Juice the Lemons
Roll the lemons on the counter to soften them, then cut them in half. Use a citrus juicer to extract the juice from the lemons. You should have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
- 3
Blend the Blueberries
In a blender, add 2 cups of fresh blueberries. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl to separate the juice from the pulp. Discard the pulp.
Mixing the Lemonade
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the blueberry juice, and the cooled simple syrup. Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well until everything is well mixed.
- 5
Taste and Adjust
Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more simple syrup if desired. You can also add more cold water if it’s too strong.
Serving
- 6
Serve the Lemonade
Pour the blueberry lemonade into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if desired. Enjoy your refreshing drink!
