Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, remove the tea bags and discard them. The tea should be strong and flavorful.

Flavoring the Tea

  1. 4

    Add Flavorings

Stir in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar while the tea is still warm. Mix until fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Mint

Add the fresh mint leaves to the tea and let it cool down to room temperature. This will infuse the mint flavor into the tea.

Serving the Tea

  1. 6

    Chill the Tea

Once cooled, transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chilled.

  2. 7

    Serve

To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the chilled tea over the ice, and garnish with a lemon slice and additional mint leaves if desired.

  3. 8
