Method

Rice Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  3. 3

    Fluff the Rice

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Vegetable Stir-Fry

  1. 4

    Prep the Vegetables

While the rice is cooking, wash and chop all the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  3. 6

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 7

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

Add the broccoli, carrot, bell pepper, snow peas, and zucchini to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.

  5. 8

    Add Sauces

Pour in the oyster sauce and soy sauce over the vegetables. Stir well to coat the veggies evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  6. 9

    Season

Add salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting according to your preference.
