Method

Preparation of Filling

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or shrimp, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Wonton Assembly

  1. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal. You can also pleat the edges for a decorative touch. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Cooking the Wontons

  1. 3

    Boil or Steam

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the wontons and cook for about 4-5 minutes until they float to the top. Alternatively, you can steam the wontons for about 6-8 minutes.

Making the Chili Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together chili paste, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic. Stir until well combined.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Arrange the cooked wontons on a serving tray and drizzle with the chili sauce. Serve warm with additional sauce on the side for dipping.
