Tempura and Fillings
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Start by cutting the salmon fillet into bite-sized pieces. Slice the avocado into thin strips and chop the sun-dried tomatoes into smaller pieces.
- 2
Make the Tempura Batter
In a bowl, combine the tempura batter mix with cold water. Whisk until smooth but do not overmix; small lumps are acceptable.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Fry the Ingredients
Dip the salmon, avocado, and sun-dried tomatoes into the tempura batter, ensuring they are well-coated. Carefully place them in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, then remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 5
Serve
Arrange the fried tempura pieces on a plate and drizzle with sunmiso sauce. Serve immediately while hot.
