Ice Cream Base

Method

Instructions

1

Make the Ice Cream Base

In a saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a bit of cold milk to create a slurry. Add this mixture to the saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to the freezer.

2

Churn the Ice Cream

Once the mixture is cooled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once churned, transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze until solid.

3

Prepare the Coating

Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Remove the ice cream from the freezer and scoop out balls. Roll each ball in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.

4

Fry the Ice Cream

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the coated ice cream balls for about 30 seconds until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Serve the Fried Milk Ice Cream

Serve the fried ice cream topped with salted fudge, toasted blondie pieces, dulcey chocolate, and a sprinkle of cornflakes.
