Dumpling Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel and dice the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth.

  2. 2

    Make Dumpling Dough

In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. 3

    Form Dumplings

With floured hands, take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball, about the size of a golf ball. Repeat with remaining dough.

  4. 4

    Cook Dumplings

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the water. Cook until they float to the surface, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.

  5. 5

    Prepare Sauce

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Pour over cooked dumplings.
