Method

For the Salad

  1. 1

    Cook the Steak

Season the steak tips with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil and sear the steak tips for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Greens

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens, sliced mushrooms, caramelized onions, and halved cherry tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

Crumble the blue cheese over the salad mixture.

For the Potato Sticks

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin sticks. Soak them in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potato Sticks

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Fry the potato sticks in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with salt.

For the Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Dressing

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, horseradish, garlic powder, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Whisk until smooth.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 7

    Combine Everything

Slice the rested steak tips and add them to the salad bowl with the mixed greens and other vegetables. Drizzle the horseradish ranch dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately topped with crispy potato sticks.
