Steak and Sandwich Assembly

Caramelized Onion

Garlic Butter

Horseradish Cream

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Season the ribeye steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or skillet over high heat and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Caramelized Onion

  1. 3

    Prepare Onions

Slice the onions thinly. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Caramelize Onions

Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.

Garlic Butter

  1. 5

    Melt Butter

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.

  2. 6

    Combine Garlic and Parsley

Finely mince the garlic and add it to the melted butter along with chopped parsley. Stir well and remove from heat.

Horseradish Cream

  1. 7

    Prepare Horseradish Cream

In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, prepared horseradish, and lemon juice until well combined.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and brush the inside of each half with the garlic butter.

  2. 9

    Assemble Sandwich

Layer sliced steak, caramelized onions, tomato slices, and grated parmesan cheese on one half of the baguette.

  3. 10

    Toast Sandwich

Close the sandwich and optionally grill it in a pan or sandwich press until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.

  4. 11

    Serve

Serve the sandwich with a side of horseradish cream for dipping.
