Alfredo Sauce
Method
Cooking the Pasta
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.
Cook Penne
Add the penne pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the penne pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt completely.
Add Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
Add Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Add Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
Combine
Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
Serve
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately while hot.
