Main Cocktail

1

Muddle mint

Place the fresh mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add the simple syrup. Gently muddle the mint just to release the aromatic oils — avoid tearing the leaves into small bits.

2

Add spirits and citrus

Add the Irish whiskey, Green Chartreuse and fresh lime juice to the shaker with the muddled mint.

3

Shake with ice

Fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 large cubes or equivalent). Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-diluted.

4

Prepare glass

If using crushed-ice presentation: fill a rocks glass or short coupe with crushed ice. If using large-cube presentation: place a large ice cube in a chilled rocks glass.

5

Double strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass (use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer) to remove mint fragments and small ice chips. If served over crushed ice, pack the crushed ice around the pour for an even chill.

6

Garnish

Float the thin green apple slice on top or place it on the rim. Slap a small mint sprig between your palms to release aromatics and garnish on top. Optionally express a lime twist over the drink for extra citrus oil.

Optional Temperature/Finish

7

For a slightly frosted finish, briefly run the glass under cold water before filling, or chill the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes ahead of time.

8

If you prefer a lighter herbal presence, reduce the Green Chartreuse to 1/4 oz and increase simple syrup to 1/2 oz to balance sweetness.
