Method
Serve neat (recommended)
Glass preparation
Choose a Glencairn or tulip-shaped whisky glass. Ensure it is clean and at room temperature — do not chill the glass.
Measure whisky
Using a jigger, measure 2 oz of The Glenlivet 15 Year Old and pour it gently into the prepared glass.
Nose and taste
Sit with the glass for a few seconds, bring it to your nose and inhale gently to appreciate the aromas (honeyed fruit, oak spice, light citrus). Take a small sip and let it coat your palate; pause to notice texture and flavor development.
Optional water
If desired, add a single teaspoon of spring or still water to open the whisky’s aromatics and flavors. Add in increments (start with 1/4 tsp) and taste after each addition until you reach your preferred balance.
Serve on the rocks (optional)
If you prefer the whisky slightly chilled and mellowed, place one large ice cube into the glass. Measure and pour 2 oz The Glenlivet 15 Year Old over the ice. Allow to rest 30–60 seconds for slight dilution, then nose and taste.
Garnish (optional)
For a subtle citrus accent, use a peeler or paring knife to remove a 1–2 inch strip of orange peel, avoiding the white pith. Express the oils by holding the twist over the glass and giving it a quick bend to release the zest toward the whisky, then either drop it into the glass or run it once around the rim before placing it on the rim.
Tasting notes & serving tips
Serve at room temperature. The Glenlivet 15 is best enjoyed slowly—savor in small sips. Offer a small carafe of spring water on the side so guests can add a few drops to taste. When sampling multiple whiskies, cleanse the palate with water and plain bread between pours.
