Martini

Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Muddle cucumber & mint

In a cocktail shaker, add 4 thin cucumber slices and 6 mint leaves. Gently muddle 6–8 times — press to release cucumber juice and mint aroma but avoid shredding the mint into bits.

Mixing

3

Add 2.5 oz Hendrick's Gin, 0.25 oz dry vermouth, 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.

5

If you prefer a clearer martini, double-strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled mixing glass or directly into the chilled martini/coupe glass to remove small cucumber and mint particles.

Garnish & Serve

6

Garnish with a long cucumber ribbon (run a vegetable peeler down the length of a cucumber), coil it and place inside the glass, and top with a small fresh mint sprig. Optionally add a lemon twist perched on the rim or expressed over the drink for a citrus aroma.

7

Serve immediately. Estimated single-serve yield is one cocktail.
