Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium.

  2. 2

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves (peeled), fresh lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  3. 3

    Process Until Smooth

Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary. If it’s too thick, add an additional tablespoon of water.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and adjust salt, lemon juice, or tahini according to your preference.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika on top.

Pita Bread Preparation

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare the Pita Bread

Place the pita bread on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

  3. 8

    Bake the Pita Bread

Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the pita bread is warm and slightly crispy.

  4. 9

    Cut and Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then cut into triangles for serving alongside the hummus.
