Fudgy Brownies

Method

Fudgy Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Combine Sugars

Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  6. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  7. 7

    Add Chocolate Chips

    Fold in the chocolate chips.

  8. 8

    Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Lemon Bars

  1. 10

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.

  2. 11

    Make the Crust

In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in 1 cup of flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.

  3. 12

    Bake the Crust

Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.

  4. 13

    Prepare the Filling

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, remaining flour, baking powder, and salt until smooth.

  5. 14

    Combine and Pour

Pour the lemon filling over the baked crust and return to the oven.

  6. 15

    Bake the Lemon Bars

Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden.

  7. 16

    Cool and Dust

Allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into squares.
