Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the coffee
Brew the espresso or strong coffee and allow it to cool slightly. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Prepare the mascarpone mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- 3
Whip the cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined.
- 4
Assemble the tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring not to soak them. Arrange a layer of ladyfingers at the bottom of a serving dish.
- 5
Layer the mascarpone mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill
Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 7
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
