Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

In a large bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.

  4. 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

Transfer the cookie dough to a greased cast iron skillet and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.

  7. 7

Allow the cookie to cool slightly in the skillet before serving.

Making the Salted Caramel Sauce

  1. 8

    Melt Sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a deep amber color.

  2. 9

    Add Butter

Once sugar is melted, add the unsalted butter and stir until melted and combined.

  3. 10

    Add Cream and Salt

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Be careful as the mixture will bubble up. Stir in the sea salt.

  4. 11

    Cool the Sauce

Remove from heat and let cool before serving.

Serving Suggestion

  1. 12
