Method

For the Chicken Tenders

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into strips of desired thickness.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour mixed with salt, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken strip first into the flour, then into the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

  6. 6

    Drain

Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For the Cream Gravy

  1. 7

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 8

    Make the Roux

Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk continuously for about 1 minute until it turns light brown.

  3. 9

    Add the Milk

Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.

  4. 10

    Season the Gravy

Add salt and pepper to taste. Continue to cook and stir until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 11

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place in a pot of salted water and boil until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 12

    Cook the Garlic

In the last 5 minutes of boiling, add the garlic cloves to the pot with the potatoes.

  3. 13

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then mash together in a bowl.

  4. 14

    Mix in Butter and Milk

Add butter and milk to the mashed potatoes. Mix until creamy and smooth.

  5. 15

    Season

Add salt and pepper to taste, mixing well.
